Our facilities
Our 20 meter-long pool provides you with three swimming lanes and a round area for Open swim and Aquafitness. The pool water is kept at a constant 85 degrees Farenheit and is cleaned through a salt-based water treatment. The pool has the same depth all around; therefore, you can safely walk everywhere in the pool. In order for you to better plan your favorite aquatic activity, please have a look at the Open swim section in our detailed schedule by clicking the "Schedule" link. You will know exactly when Aquafitness classes are scheduled, on what lane swimming classes are taking place and therefore, making sure that you have the area you need available to better plan your activities and training.
We offer you a variety of pool equipment such as fins, kids' games and much more. Just ask your lifeguard or monitor for them!
Access to the pool is made easy for everyone. A pool ramp allows you to go in at your own pace.
Pool operating hours
Mondays to Thursdays: 6:30 am - 10:00 pm
Fridays: 6:30 am - 9 pm
Saturdays and Sundays: 7:00 am -8:30 am and 1 pm - 10 pm (swimming lessons are scheduled only between 8:30 am and 1 pm)

Aquafitness PROGRAMS - There are five types of classes available as indicated in the Aquafitness schedule
Aquafitness for all, Aqua-Senior customized for ages 55+, Aquamom Prenatal Fit for soon-to-be moms, Mom and tot Aquafitness for new moms and their little ones et AquaZumba to get back in shape or stay in shape with rhythm!
sWIMMING PROGRAMS - CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL AGES, AS INDICATED IN THE SWIMMING CLASSES SCHEDULE
- Parent and I: one to four children, ages 6 months to 5 years
- Preschool (seahorse, snail, tadpole, frog, goldfish and wale) ages 3 to 5
- Junior (yellow, orange, red, brown, blue, green, grey, white and silver) ages 6 and older
- Adult swimming (beginner, intermediate and advanced) ages 15 and older

A lifeguard training course is offered every session as follows: Bronze Medal course or Bronze Cross course. For more information on the content of courses or type of course being offered, please have a look at the schedule.
Open swim: Please have a look at our Open swim schedule to find the timeframe that best suits your schedule and better enjoy your swim!
Our Open Swim period will be the best time you will ever have at Sportheque! During our pool operating hours, you will always find at least one swimming lane open for laps and space available for Open swimming, so you don't have to worry about booking your swim in your busy schedule!

ADULT PROGRAMMING

| Aquafit | Aquafit offers medium to strong intensity water exercises lasting 50 minutes. Stretching followed by cardiovascular exercises and different muscular exercises as well as abdominal exercise. Must be 17 years of age or over. | |
| Aquafit with baby | Aquafit class for mom and the baby. The mother participates in different series of movements to work the cardio and muscles. The baby is in the water, either in the mom's arms or sitting in a flotation device in a dolphin shape. *Recommendation : The baby should be 6 months old or older because the mom works in the water with the baby. He should be holding his head easily. | |
| Aqua prenatal | Aqua prenatal offers different series of water exercises of adapted intensity for pregnant women. The course is 50 minutes. | |
| Adult beginner - to start! | Programme pour s'y lancer : Cours de 50 minutes pour se préparer à apprendre à nager. Le cours offre aux participants des activités pour prendre confiance dans l'eau, pour flotter, s'immerger et se déplacer dans l'eau. Plusieurs apprentissages à faire avant d'apprendre les styles de nage! | |
| Adult intermediate - swim strokes | Programme pour développer : Cours de 50 minutes pour apprendre les styles de nage : crawl, dos crawlé, brasse, dos élémentaire, marinière et papillon. Les participants apprendront à nager de façon progressive. Plusieurs activités et éducatifs vous seront présentés pour apprendre les styles de nage. Pré-requis : être à l'aise dans l'eau et nager 20 mètres. | |
| AquaZUMBA | Course of ZUMBA, simply adapted to workout in the water! The Zumba instructor is trained to make you try aquafitness with a lot more rhythm and movement with fantastic music! Very motivating! Course of 50 minutes. For everyone who likes to move! | |
| Adult advanced - training | Programme pour s'entraîner : Programme de 60 minutes pour venir suivre un entraînement de natation encadré. Chaque semaine un nouvel entraînement vous sera offert et la présence du moniteur vous aidera à la fois à vous améliorer; puissance et vitesse dans votre style de nage vu toutes les corrections qui pourront vous être données pendant que vous nagez! |

| Parent and me 1 and 2 | Participants from the courses of parents and me 1 and 2 are combined on the Tuesday mornings. For children ages 6 months to 24 months. A course of 35 minutes. Various activities with play materials for your child to be at ease in the water. The child is familiar with the water and the surrounding. He is encouraged to move on his stomach and pedaling, as well as washing his face and make bubbles with his mouth. | |
| Parent and me 2 | Parent and me 2 is a swim program for parents and their children ages 12 to 24 months. A course of 35 minutes. Various activities with play materials for your child to be at ease in the water. The child is familiar with the water and learns to enter and exit the water alone. He moves on his stomach with the help of his parent and immerge on his face and ears. He is encouraged to use his arms and float with a star sharpe all that by making bubles with his mouth. | |

The child moves in the water by the movement of the arms et legs as well as glidding in the water. He can jump in the water et float on his stomach like on his back. He swims to go get some objects by letting go of the parent. He knows as well how to move on his back . | |
| Parent and me 4 | Parent and me 4 is a swim program for parents and their children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 35 minutes. Various activities with play materials for your child to be at ease in the water and learn basic swimming techniques. The child moves in the water by moving his arms and legs as well as glidding in the water to propel himself. He can jump in the water and float on his stomach alone. He swims to go get an object alone and can breath out by his nose under water. | |
| Seahorse | Seahorse is a swim program for children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 30 minutes. The sea horse enters and exits the pool alone. The child is familiar with the water and does the movements with help. He soaks his face and makes bubbles. He initiates himself with the beat of his legs. | |
| Snail | Snail is a swim program for children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 30 minutes. The snail jumps in the water with a little help. He soaks his ears and immerses under the water. He tries to float in star position as well as gliding like a rocket with some help. He can move well alone with a floating object for 3 meters. | |
| Snail / Tadpole | Snail / Tadpole is a swim program for children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 30 minutes. Snail and Tadpole are welcome. | |
| Tadpole | Tadpole is a swim program for children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 30 minutes. The tadpole can float alone on his stomach as well as on his back. He opens his eyes under water and swims for 3 meters with the head outside of the water. He starts to move on his back. | |
| Frog | Frog is a swim program for children ages 3 to 5 years. A course of 35 minutes. The frog jumps in the water, opens well his eyes under water and swims 4 meters on his stomach. He is comfortable with moving on his back with a floating object during 5 seconds on his back just like on the back. He blows bubbles continuously. | |
| Goldfish | Goldfish is a swim program for children ages 4 to 5 years. A course of 35 minutes. The red fish goes easily under water and comes up to the surface to swim on the spot during 15 seconds at a time. He initiates with the weight transfer so he starts to practice to go get an object at the bottom. He swims as well 6 meters on his stomach all while his arms rotate outside of the water. | |
| Whale | Whale is a swim program for children ages 4 to 5 years. A course of 35 minutes. The whale breathes well in the water while moving. He can swim on the spot during 30 seconds at a time and goes to get an object at the bottom. He swims 10 meters at a time with his arms outside of the water and breathes by coordinating with the arms. He can also go thru a houla hoop and swim 2 meters under water. With the help of a floater, he swims 20 meters of the pool. | |
| Yellow | Yellow is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 35 minutes. The participant makes various movements in the water et moves with his face under water. He can execute gliding and floating movements on his stomach and back. He can swim 15 meters with the help of a floater and 5 meters alone. | |
| Orange | Orange is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 40 minutes. The participant jumps in the water alone and opens his eyes under water. He starts to make rythmic breathing and maintains at the surface for 15 seconds at a time. He floats, glides but initiates now at the crawl by turning his arms straight towards the outside of the water. He swims 10 meters on the stomach just like on the back. | |
| Red | Red is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 40 minutes. The participant can maintain at the surface for 30 seconds and can go touch the bottom. After he is able to float, he can rectify and turn well. He can execute a beating with the legs with the help of a floater and breathes well on the side when needed. He swims 15 meters of crawl and 15 meters on the back while beating with the legs. | |
| Marroon | Marroon is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 40 minutes. The participant can execute his swimming movement on the spot during 1 minute et knows the foetal position to keep him warm in the water. He swims 25 meters of crawl with a better propulsion and initiates to the back crawl, so he starts to turn the arms during the beating of the legs on the back. | |
| Blue | Blue is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. The child can control well his breathing technique while swimming. He can swim 25 meters of crawl. He initiates himself to the basic techniques of synchronized swimming. He swims with a 75 meters endurance. | |
| Blue / Green | Blue / Green is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. Both courses are combined so welcome to the children of level blue or green! | |
| Green | Green is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. The child swims 100 meters of crawl, 50 meters of back crawl and learns how to swim back elementary. His swimming endurance is 150 meters. | |
| Grey | Grey is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. The child improves tehnique that maintains his at the surface during 4 minutes. He can now propulse better his crawl and his back crawl for 100 meters, his back elementary for 50 meters et learns the breast stroke. His swimming endurance is 300 meters. | |
| Grey / White | Grey / White is an aquatic program for children of age 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. Course offered for the children of the grey or white level. | |
| White | White : The child can maintain his swimming on the spot for 5 minutes and his swimming endurance is 400 meters. He participates in different classes to improve his techniques and can swim with only the arms or only the legs to help practice. He does 100 meters of every swimming techniques. | |
| White / Silver | White / Silver is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. Course offered to children of the white or silver level. | |
| Silver | Silver is an aquatic program for children ages 6 years and older. A course of 45 minutes. The child now swims 500 meters without rest and does his summersault turns at the end of his lengths of the pool. He does 100 meters in almost every swimming techniques and initiates himself to the butterfly. |
