New Year New Me

New Year New Me

Boxing Day has barely passed and we are still recovering from New Year's Eve we are already thinking about the New Year and the changes we want to make in our lives for 2019. We are still full of good intentions #newyearnewme (new year, new me). Why ? Probably because from one year to another, one aspires to become the best version of oneself in most spheres of our daily life. Probably also because after spending the last two weeks celebrating, drinking too much or eating too much, we want to find our balance and our routine. We want to set goals, which may not always be realistic, but oh so motivating.

Still, we should motivate ourselves to be a better person all year long in the end, right? The truth is, we need to believe in something. It's a bit like our Father Christmas magic to us adults. It's important for most of us to believe that a date, a change of year, may give us the strength to fall back on our feet after some hectic times and the courage to stop reporting see you tomorrow, which should be our priority today. Like all beliefs, it's just about having confidence in yourself, in someone, or in something. In this case, it is to be certain that we can achieve our new goals.

In short, the resolutions of the New Year are not a bogus tradition. On the contrary: New Year often means new habits and new life. Whatever our motivation behind our resolutions, the possibilities are limitless with a little will, discipline and letting go. There's no better way to start than to start somewhere, and somewhere begins with a specific date that allows us to measure the time to get there.

What happens if we fail to achieve all our goals? Nothing at all. Is it serious ? Is it the end of the world? Not at all. We will have to set new ones for 2010 ;-)

Happy New Year 2019 to you all!
