Would you like to practice yoga? You've heard about it for years; Do your loved ones do it regularly and you constantly tell yourself that you too should start? Because we have all been in this position already, we have prepared a list of tips for you, the beginner of yoga.

First, yoga is a discipline of body and mind that includes a wide variety of exercises and techniques. These techniques include physical postures, breathing and meditation practices, as well as deep relaxation.

CHOOSE YOUR FIRST COURSE WELL
There are a variety of yoga classes: Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, Warm Hatha, Therapeutic Yoga, etc. The list is very long, but which one to choose? When you register for your first class, find out. Whether online or directly at the yoga studio, do not be afraid to ask questions. Usually opts for gentle Yoga classes, Hatha Yoga or others. If you want to know the postures of yoga at the base, these courses are for you! These are generally oriented towards the physical and psychological aspect; as much for the mobility as for the endurance and the flexibility of the postures.

DO NOT HAVE EXPECTATIONS
If you expect to be good and move smoothly in the first class, think again. It usually takes 2 to 3 courses to know the basic postures such as the dog upside down, the baby cobra, the table, the warrior, etc. Once you know these positions, the sequences will be more fluid and you will probably also have more fun to perform.

HOW TO DRESS
For some, the fashion aspect of yoga will be a good motivation. There are several companies that specialize in yoga outfits such as Lolë, Lululemon, Nike, etc. What a pleasure to go shopping for new outfits for your yoga class is not it? You can finally wear this neon leggings or this open-back camisole that you dream so much.

BE WELL ACCOMPANIED
Question to stay motivated, why not invite your friends to accompany you in a class? You will be able to introduce them to your new hobby and talk to them about your favorite courses. Moreover, by committing yourself to going to a class with someone, it's another motivation to not miss a class. Combined with the promise that you made yourself not to skip a class, you will have a friend to remind you that it's entertaining and good for you!

ACCESSORIES YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY HAVE
To practice this sport, you must have some important accessories.
The most important: a yoga mat. Almost all sports shops sell it. Little advice, you can find beautiful yoga mats, at affordable prices at Winners. Make sure it is thick enough and non-slip to avoid slipping.
Then a bottle of water. Simply because you will be thirsty and it is important to hydrate yourself.
Other useful articles: hair elastic, yoga bag, yoga blocks (several studios provide them), quick drying towel, belts (serve to assist certain postures), etc.

GO TO YOUR RHYTHM
During the practice of certain postures or stretches, you may feel discomfort in a muscle or discomfort to certain parts of the body. Each body is different and has a tolerance threshold that is not the same for everyone. It is important to listen to yourself and not push yourself too hard in certain postures. This could create a risk of injury. Go at your own pace and do the movements according to your degree of flexibility.

LEARN TO BREATHE
We often forget to breathe and we neglect the benefits of deep breathing. Your yoga teacher will repeat it 100 times during the class: inspires and expires. Breathing helps to circulate the vital energy and therefore has all its importance in terms of energy balance. Try to arrive a few minutes before the start of the course, sit on your carpet and take deep breaths, you will feel your body relax from the first seconds.

BE OPENMINDED
At the end of each yoga class, your teacher will ask you to sit down. All together, you will do the song of om (or aummmm). You'll be surprised at first, maybe you'll find the song a little comical. Whether you sing it or not, let the sound of others invade you, you will feel a dose of energy running through your body.

KEEP YOUR DETERMINATION AND MOTIVATION
As the weeks go by, there will be ups and downs. At times, you will love yoga and at other times you will want to give up. The key to success, as in all sports, is to persevere and stay motivated. Find your own source of motivation. Start personal challenges. Increase the level and difficulty of your classes. Try different teachers, different courses and find your own practice by trying. In no time, without your knowledge, you will be considered a real yogi.
